Happy Diwali – Hindu Festival of Light –
Begins New Moon – 19 October 2017
Diwali (Lakshmi Pujan/Amavasya) is the darkest night of the year according to Hindu ancient traditions and ancestors who taught to overcome darkness with light. When the moon is not shining, neither the sun ( new moon), the sky is dark, so one needs to find ones inner light and be it. One does Pujas ( offering ceremonies) during this festival especially to Maa Laxmi (a Divine Mother) to ask for good luck and a flow of abundance.
One of the most popular festivals of Hinduism, it spiritually signifies the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, knowledge over ignorance, and hope over despair. Its celebration includes millions of lights shining on housetops, outside doors and windows, around temples and other buildings in the communities and countries where it is observed.
Happy Diwali to all.
May the inner light of your heart shine and illuminate the dark.
